Lamphere Brand Studio was founded in 2018 to do brand work a particular way: strategy first, senior hands throughout, and a small number of clients at a time.
The studio grew out of a simple observation. Most companies that need brand work are good at what they do and badly served by how they look and sound. The gap is rarely a lack of design. It is a lack of decision. They have never settled what they stand for clearly enough for an identity to express it.
So that is where we start, every time. We work out the position before we touch the design. It is the harder part of the work, and it is the part that makes everything after it straightforward.
What we believe
A brand is not a logo. It is a decision filter, the shared idea that tells a team what to do when no one is there to ask. We also believe that looking like everyone else is the most expensive mistake a brand can make. Safe, category-average design quietly trains an audience to compete on price. Our work is built to do the opposite: to make a company legible, memorable, and worth a premium.
How we are built
The studio is small on purpose. Brand work does not scale by adding hands, so we do not. Every engagement is led by senior people from the first conversation to the final handoff. We take on a limited number of projects at a time, and each one gets the attention that judgment work requires.
