We build brands with something to say.
Lamphere Brand Studio is a small senior team in Charlotte, North Carolina. We help founder-led and growth-stage companies find their position and build an identity that carries it, from strategy through to the last detail.

Four disciplines, one continuous piece of work.
Brand Strategy
Positioning, audience, and the point of view a company is willing to stand behind. The decision filter every later choice runs through.
Visual Identity
Logo, typography, color, and art direction. The expression of the strategy, built to look like the company and nothing else.
Naming
Names for companies, products, and places. The first strategic decision a brand makes in public, treated with the weight it deserves.
Brand Systems
Guidelines, templates, and the tools that let a growing team stay consistent without the founder in every room.
Brands we have built.
Strategy first. Always.
Listen
We start by understanding the business, the market, and what the founder actually believes.
Position
We define what the company is, who it is for, and what it will refuse to be.
Design
We build the identity as a direct expression of that strategy, never ahead of it.
Systematize
We hand over a system the team can run on its own, built to hold as the company grows.
A small senior team, by design.
Lamphere Brand Studio is intentionally small. Brand work is judgment work, and judgment does not scale by adding hands. Every engagement is led by senior people from the first conversation to the final handoff.
The studio was founded in 2018 by Whitney Lamphere, a brand strategist with agency and client-side experience across real estate, finance, and professional services.
Notes on the work.
Strategy Before Identity
Every project we take on starts in the same place, and it is not the logo. Here is why we work strategy-first.
What a Brand Engagement Looks Like
Hiring a brand studio can feel like a leap. It should not. Here is how a typical engagement runs, start to finish.
Knowing When to Invest in Brand
Brand work has a right time. Too early and there is nothing to express. Too late and you have been losing ground for years.
